Kam and Luke were guests at a wedding that I photographed last year – and after hearing the positive experience of that couple, they knew we had to talk. But Kam and Luke didn’t want the same wedding our mutual connection did – they wanted it their style, in the form of an intimate ceremony of just 11 people. Their values were in the people that were there, but also just being low-key and completely honest about what their wedding day would look.

So on Leap Day 2020 in Minneapolis, Kam and Luke did the thing.

With a small party the following day, they did their marriage party the way they wanted. And it’s my hope that these images are an honest representation of their party, and that it brings them back to these exact moments time and time again. Plus, I explored some video, and it just ties in exactly how everyone was feeling. And I hope I get to do more of these in the future.
