Marjorie McNeely Conservatory Ceremony | Aaron + Ryan | Saint Paul, MN

Aaron and Ryan knew they were wanting to evolve their relationship into a formal commitment – by why not invite everybody they loved to join along? They chose to have a commitment ceremony in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory – a place for them to share sentiments with each other, hear readings by family, and to choose to become engaged amongst everyone they love (and the trees).

Amidst the beginning of a snowstorm, their ceremony started with a grounding moment. This helped the guests feel connected to the present moment and the ceremony. Together, they took a deep breath and embraced the significance of what was happening. It was a perfect way to set the tone.

A live performance of a meaningful song followed. The couple, surrounded by loved ones, listened to heartfelt words from their family members. These moments created a strong bond between everyone present. Aaron and Ryan took turns saying sweet sentiments to each other. Their words were full of love and promise as they exchanged rings.

Aaron and Ryan described their love of nature as something pivotal to who they are – so having a ceremony amongst the trees and flowers made perfect sense for them. They wanted everything to reflect who they are. As part of the ceremony, their mothers crafted beautiful floral crowns. Near the end, the couple wore these crowns, adding a touch of elegance to the day. It was a lovely nod to their roots and the beauty around them.

As the ceremony concluded, family and friends flooded them with congratulations and adorations. A toast, some light bites, quick photos where people just gathered and threw their arms around one another.

That’s all that celebrations are meant to be.
