GLENSHEEN MANSION WINTER WEDDING | DULUTH MN WEDDING VENUE | CANDID WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Camille and Paul felt a shift.
They started to get this sense that they need to be married sooner rather than later. And on top of that, they wanted it to look differently than how they originally imagined.
Having been together for the better part of a decade, they moved their event date up even earlier so they could celebrate at a location they loved, on the lake they adored, in a way that made sense for them.
The Winter Garden at Glensheen Mansion proved to be an astounding fit. They brought this sense of elegance and personalization to their intimate event, while still getting to take moments alone on the shore and in front of a firepit. They even chose to skip formal family photos altogether, to spend more casual time with their guests during the social hour.
Picture this: the snow gently falling around the historic mansion, creating a serene backdrop for the couple’s heartfelt vows. The simple decor and cozy atmosphere of the winter garden added to the intimacy of the ceremony, making it feel like a scene straight out of a fairytale.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when Camille and Paul cracked open a beer on the shore of Lake Superior, the light snow adding a touch of magic to the scene. It was a simple, honest moment that perfectly encapsulated the essence of their love – unpretentious, down-to-earth, and full of joy.
Speaking of – other moments to look for? Camille surprising Paul with a gift. Guests snuffing them out on the way to the ceremony. Walking in together. That first beer on the shore. Snowflakes, everywhere. Toasts on toasts, and then a toasty fire. And so much more.
