I’m so lucky to be invited into Paige and Michael’s inner circle.

Though they live in Chicago (check out their Chicago skyline engagement session!) they hosted their wedding at the beautiful Rollins Mansion in Des Moines, IA. They have ties to the city through the university and through family, so it just made sense to bring everybody back there.

Michael was the best man of a wedding I photographed back in 2022 (check out that wedding at Boxed and Burlap near Milwaukee – hi Kate and Frank!) so when his named ended up in my inbox I couldn’t have been more excited. Michael and Paige both knew they wanted candid – almost completely documentary – coverage of their event, feeling the importance of getting to be present with their people.

Imagine walking through the gates of a venue that transports you back in time, with its beautiful architecture and old world charm – The Rollins Mansion in Des Moines, IA is one such place. The gardens provided the perfect setting for a romantic and intimate cocktail hour. The lush greenery and blooming flowers create a picture-perfect scene for newlyweds to steal a quiet moment together before the festivities begin.

Oh, and their dancefloor was absolutely LIT.
